One's visit to the Bicolandia
is not complete without
catching a captivating view
of Mayon Vulcano, the
world's
most perfect cone.
Her name was derived from
the Bikol word "
Magayon",
which is literally
means beautiful. The peak ,
likened to
the legendary
beauty Daragang Magayon
, is often
concealed by
clouds urging first-time
visitors to stay
longer to
admire her charm. With a
height of 2,242
meters( 8,
189 feet) , she has a base
of 10 kilometers
embracing
several towns.
Behind her enigma, Mayon
has left a trail of death and
destruction brought about
by her 15 eruptions.
Despite
this, her tantrums
have become spectacular
fireworks
display to behold.
